Quite relaxed environment.
My biggest complaint is the ridiculously early checkout time of 10am. And they have a strict policy of not extending checkout time. We left our condo at about 2 minutes after 10am to go down and check out. As we were leaving, the phone started ringing. No doubt the front desk reminding us to check out. They didn't say anything or try to charge us anything extra for checking out 5 minutes late.
Older building well kept and clean.
Stayed here July 2017 in a 2BR condo. I'm giving it 3 stars because it's a basic small condo. Comparing it to the condos we usually stay in, it's not very big and not that nice. But it's not dirty or bad, necessarily. If I was going to rate this place among other similarly priced condos, I would probably give it 5 stars.
In summary, a very basic, small condo that rents for a good price but has a ridiculously early checkout time.
The kitchens weren't as well equipped as the condos we usually stay in, but they were fine for us.
When we checked in, they gave us all wrist bands and said they were required to go in the pool. She told us to put them on loosely so you could take them off when you weren't at the pool. We all tried that, but it wouldn't work. There was no way to put them on that way so they could be taken off and on.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful beach!!! I did enjoy with my husband get in the water because is clean, normal waves and you can walk a long way inside and the water is at the high of your waist line or shoulders. Quite and relax view. Get a mistic moment having a connection of the ocean with your soul, mind and spirit. Renews the energy, harmony and balance of your body.
The Islander Beach Resort is an older establishment with a beautiful beach view from every room. The unit in which I stayed was in need of an update as far as decorating but everything was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed with supplies. There is one large pool, a small kiddie pool, and two hot tubs all with lovely ocean views. The pool area Is clean and well stocked with towels and toys. In the lobby are two young ladies trying to sell timeshare weeks. They are persistent. There is a small exercise room and a nice sized arcade room. The Islander is very conveniently located. You can get to many stores and good restaurants in minutes. I would definitely stay here again.
Very well maintained facility, super clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Daily activities for kids and adults. Great pool with a large deck area and beach access with your room key. No restaurant or bar, but a few very good options are very close.
Our condo had no balcony. We knew this before we rented it. It did have nice big windows to look at the beach. Some units do have balconies.
My only complaints, other than small and basic, would be the having to wear wrist bands and the ridiculously early check out time.
