Beautiful park!!! The visitors center is very interesting and has beautiful and unique gifts. Opportunities abound for recreational activities: fishing, hiking, boating, kayaking, etc. There is a gorgeous beach with several nice parking lots. This is a peninsula so on the other side is the intercoastal and there are many picnic areas and boat launching areas on this side. There are remains of a small village which I did not get to explore this trip and at the Turtle Mound site you can view a Native American midden. I can't wait to return!
Beautiful beach. Stashed in a neighborhood, but still very nice. Public bathroom, picnic shelters, and showers on site. Not too many people while we were here in August. Waves big enough to play in, but not be too worm out by. Would definitely visit again. Bring water and stuff, the nearest store is a bit down the road unless you count the bait shop.
Once a beautiful place to come but now there's no beach access and everything looks abandoned.. There's no up keep of this place.. I forgotten gem... A women's mission to provide a place for everyone to come and enjoy is no longer available... I wish the city would do more for this historic place..
This is a nice place to go with your family. There are a couple picnic tables and there are restrooms. Free parking is available along the fence. Everytime I have been there the beach was closed because it was high tide.
Great park. Can see manatees & dolphins, play volleyball while the kids play at the playground, & a nice beach is half a block away. A favorite of ours
